I am Iris Arenson-Fuller, a trained and certified life coach. I received extensive training
through the International Coach Academy, a program approved by the International Coach
Federation. I have continued to take coaching training and seminars from many well-known
experts on an ongoing basis. I have decades of social work experience with individuals and
families. I help clients find solution to real life problems. I may well be one of the most highly
practical, yet highly caring and imaginative individuals you will find, and that is evident in my
work with all of my clients.
Like you, there are many words to describe me and alll of the things that I am and have lived through,
make me unique.
In addition to my professional background and training, the personal challenges I navigated have
shaped me into a strong coach. Overcoming my own challenges has given me more compassion and
a broader perspective on life, equipping me to help my coaching clients in a very special way. When I
assist people in moving them out of painful or unproductive situations and encourage them to do better,
they know that I have often walked similar paths to the ones they are traveling.
I am an expert at starting over! I was widowed young, raised my multicultural family on my own for
a long time, have lost many loved ones, and also my home and belongings in a tragic fire. I have reinvented
myself several timesat various life stages. I know that's why I am so good at helping others do that.
It's hard to say of which role I am most proud, and which words I feel describe me the most
accurately. I am a survivor, wife, widow, mother, (by adoption and by birth) grandmother, lifelong
student of new challenges and ideas, former adoption agency founder and director. I am also an
author and poet whose creative side is a huge part of my life, and which complements my professional
training and practical nature, enabling me to use a variety of fun, helpful and creative techniques with my coaching clients.
I am the owner and founder of Vision Powered Coaching.

Adoption Agency.
Adoption coaching is one type of life coaching offered at Vision Powered Coaching. In addition,
I coach clients through Big Changes, Hard Choices and Second Chances. and assist them in dealing
with some very difficult or challenging transitions of life.
With my late husband, Kim Abbot, in September of 1981 I founded Thursday's Child, Inc., a licensed
Connecticut (USA) adoption agency. I directed the agency after Kim''s untimely death in March of 1982,
until the board of directors and I together decided to turn in our license and to dissolve the corporation in
October of 2010. Although I no longer place children for adoption, I steer and support people through the
adoption process. As their coach and advocate,I help them determine if they are ready to adopt, and how
to decide on right type of child for them. I guide them as they build an adoption plan that will take into
account the many real variables, and that will lead them to success.
I work with people who are part of the adoption community in different ways, and who are at different
places in their adoption journeys. That could be someone who is contemplating adoption, someone who is
encountering roadblocks,or someone who is already raising an adoptive family. It might be an adult adoptee,
or someone who has already placed a child for adoption.

coaching practice at Vision Powered Coaching.
